Marvellous New Zealand - Day 14 & 15 (Queenstown-Auckland-Kuala Lumpur)

Image
We woke up early as we had to catch the 9.30am flight back to Auckland, it was almost the end of our marvellous New Zealand holidays.   Papa Bear read from the news that Auckland was hit by rough storm and heavy rain for the past few days.  In fact, when we turned on the morning news, we saw fallen trees on the road and the rescuers were in rain coats managing the after effect of the bad weather.   We were worried and we prayed for our safe flight back to Auckland and hoped for a better weather.  I emailed our B&B host in Auckland informing her of our arrival and that we might need to check in earlier if it was still raining in Auckland.  She had graciously agreed.   Well, at least we had got a place to rest.   Fraser and Heather were both awake waiting for us when we went downstairs at 6.30am and our breakfast was READY!   We were so touched.  We had told Fraser and Heather that we would do fine with just some biscuits and ...

Marvellous New Zealand - Day 13 (Queenstown)

We had a good sleep at Fraser and Heather's beautiful home - Kemnay.  We woke up feeling fresh and relax, as we knew we would be spending time only in Queenstown, there was no rush to keep up to schedule.  We were reluctant to leave our beautiful 'home' in Queenstown as the view overlooking Lake Wakatipu was simply magnificent.  How we wished we could spend more days in Queenstown.    A bathroom with a view.  It looks like a beautifully framed picture.  More view from the bathroom and kids room.  How we wish we could stay here longer. :) We went downstairs and were greeted by Fraser and Heather's warm smiles and wishes.  Our breakfast was ready - continental and cooked.   Brother Bear ate fruits like oranges, apples and bananas for breakfast as usual.  Papa Bear and I ordered our favourite toasts to go with the locally produced butter which we loved very much.  Fraser and Heather were s...

Marvellous New Zealand - Day 12 (Te Anau-Queenstown)

Image
It was a special day for the kids, especially Sister Bear, as we would be travelling to Queenstown. OK, to be precise, Coronet Peak Ski Resort in Queenstown.  We packed all things and left the holiday park happily.  Kids didn't even ask to go to the playground in the park which looked fun.  Haha...  Can you see the mountains in the background?  Te Anau was a peaceful small town. We made a photo stop at the peaceful Lake Te Anau for awhile and off we went travelling on the scenic road again, this time heading to Queenstown.  We made a few photo stops and a toilet break in between. South Island was simply beautiful, everywhere and anywhere.    The scenic drive from Te Anau to Queenstown.  Part of the long stretch of Lake Wakatipu.  Even the fog looked magical?  LOL We checked the weather forecast which said rain was expected in Queenstown the whole day on this day, which happened to be true....
